Railway companies around the world are busy building or planning for improved trackside communications networks. Huge investment is being poured into these systems in a bid to increase capacity, improve safety, cut train operating costs and add new benefits for passengers and staff. This new conference will examine the pitfalls encountered by those at the forefront of this movement.

Rail operators and suppliers from around the world will converge on London to discuss at first hand the challenges they have experienced as they strive to build this new generation of trackside communications networks. The presenters and panellists will attempt to answer key questions such as:

  • How can rail network operators maximise their investments in GSM-R?
  • How can the rail industry benefit from new broadband wireless technologies such as WiMAX, HSDPA and OFDM?
  • Who should own and control radio spectrum and telecoms infrastructure at the trackside?
  • Which emerging train operator applications will drive the need for improved trackside communications?
  • How can the rail industry work more effectively with telecoms service providers and regulators to drive rail communications enhancements?
  • Who should manage trackside communications networks?
The number of places at this conference is limited, so please reserve your seat now by filling out the order form on the opposite page and faxing it through to us.
